Lauren, the 2nd of four children, was born in Massachusetts and grew up on Cape Cod. She attended Cape Cod Community College and The University of Massachusetts at Amherst and spent six months studying the French language in Grenoble, France. She achieved her bachelor of Arts degree in French in 1976 and moved to New York City to work for an educational travel company facilitating cultural exchange for high school students around the world. In 1979 married Rich Cardinali and she gave birth to twins (Andrea and David) in 1982. The family moved to Westchester in late 1983 and in 1986 she had another son, Raymond.
Lauren began teaching parenting classes in 1987 after searching for compassionate and effective techniques to use with her own three small children.
She became interested the fields of childbirth, labor support, and postpartum care while preparing for the challenging task of achieving her own vaginal delivery following a cesarean section.
For the past 20 years, Lauren has dedicated herself to helping mothers and families as they adjust to their new roles. She works as a Postpartum Doula in the Southern Westchester Area of New York specializing in breastfeeding and multiple births.
She is excited to join Cultural Care Au Pair as a Local Childcare Coordinator to help provide families with flexible, affordable childcare. And to assist in the transitions families endure as their children grow and their families needs change.
